Meet the Educator & Curriculum Designer

Hi! My name is Anupama Bhattacharya, mother of Jhulan Sarada Purnima and multidisciplinary educator of over 10 years. Through teaching art, robotics, science, math, engineering, crafts, dance, poetry, painting, algorithms, swimming, and meditation ranging from infants to seniors, I have learned that the best educators are the ones with everlasting curiosity and a joyful heart. I believe young vivacious children with unending creativity and open hearts are the best people to invigorate with multidisciplinary skills and loving compassion.

I have taught and designed Circuit Jewelry, Paper Airplane Testing, Gumdrop Bridge Building, Dance Robot, Robot Wars, Lego Tower Building, and a whole bunch more! Some of the places I have taught at are the Goodman South Library, Madison Children’s Museum, BadgerRock Community Center, Theresa Terrace Community Center, MSCR Aquatics, Packer Community Learning Center, Northport Community Learning Center, KGH Autism Services, Art Literature Lab, and Bloom Tech Virtual Classrooms.  Since then, I have become a mother and have been completely immersed in witnessing the miracle that is Early Childhood and I am very interested in creating Early Childhood Educational experiences. My passion for multidisciplinary STEAM, hands-on education remains strong, and now I am embarking on teaching as an independent curriculum designer and educator.

As a multidisciplinary explorer, I am eager to share my knowledge with the next generation. I am a UW- Madison alum with a Bachelors Degree in Biomedical Engineering and Computer Science and I have also had extensive experience in the arts, primarily poetry, painting, and dance. With publications in artificial intelligence research and in prose poetry, I have gained wisdom in how rhythm, beauty, and logic contribute to the power of language. I have engineered patented devices and displayed my paintings in the Chazen Museum. Through both art and technology, I learned to design with both analytical practicality and emotive expression. I have performed multiple disciplines of dance and programmed robots, creating flow of movement with numbers and melody. Classically opposing fields expand as they interact, and I find tremendous joy in educating through their interplay.
